Miners’ Protests are Under Way in Lviv and Volyn Oblasts Featured

According to Mykhailo Volynets, Head of the NPGU, the miners of Lviv oblast will carry out a  set of protests  on the 21st January 2016 if the salary debts are not reimbursed. The salary debts amount to 120 million UAH. The protest activity will be discussed tomorrow at the Trade Union Committee meeting. Mykhailo Volynets will be part of the meeting.



NPGU Youth Against Pressure From the Security Service of Ukraine

The NPGU Youth Committee of the Western Donbas are indignant at lawlessness and pressure on the trade unions and their leaders who carried out a number of protest actions and demonstration in April-June 2015. With slogans “We live in a democratic country!” and “Stop pressure and persecution!” the young NPGU (the Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine) members organized a flash mob in social media.


Miners Block the main road in Volyn Oblast

Today the NPGU miners of “Novovolynska” mine #10 at 10:00 a.m. blocked the bridge across river Zahidnyi Bug in the village of Lytovyzhi  (Lviv-Lutsk main road)  thus protesting against the non-payment of salaries and unfulfilled promises given by Mr. Volodymyr Demchishin, the Minister of Coal and Energy Industry.


Decent work rally: the KVPU and NPGU organized auto race in the town of Antratsyt

The activists of the Confederation of Free Trade Unions of Ukraine (KVPU) together with the Independent Trade Unionws of Miners of Ukraine (NPGU) carried out the rally in Antratsyt of Lugansk oblast . This rally was devoted to Decent Work. The rally participants were trying to persuade the people of the town to protect their civil and labour rights.
